Print patterns for foundation piecing, templates and rotary cutting charts. Audition your own personal fabric stash, embroidery designs and quilting designs on your quilt before you make it.
Design your own quilts and block patterns. Love EQ and I hope you find it to your liking. The industry’s BEST quilt design software. Nothing is more frustrating than losing your work. In addition, I keep a 128g thumb drive specifically for storing Electric Quilt design files. If you get stuck contact Electric Quilt support. The key is to keep your documentation, and make back-up copies on an external hard drive. Electric Quilt support has been with me every step of the way, and had invaluable advice each time I experienced a crash. I have upgraded computers several times since 1994, with major crashes on the hard drives. I use this program daily in designing blocks, patterns, planning quilt layouts, printing templates, printing quilt labels and exporting images into Microsoft Publisher for patterns, quilt guild newsletters, stationary, and envelopes. In the beginning, For me, there was a learning curve, but it was easily mastered. Of course there are currently, great tutorials in the software.
Soon I didn't need to refer to the index cards, unless it is something I don't use very often.
In the 1990s it was upgraded and I purchased EQ5 at the Houston International Quilt Festival and have upgraded each time to the current EQ7. In the beginning EQ was only available on floppy disks, and it did not have video tutorials embedded within the software, so each time I used the navigation in the menu, I wrote an index card with directions.
